Great Photo Improvements for Members

We've made some subtle but effective changes to the main pages of the website. The changes should enhance the search engine optimisation of the site and its contents, with the added bonus for our members that more people on the internet will be able to find their pictures and descriptions and therefore, help the search for the answer want by those who post their photos on the "Who are you Where are you" website.

On the photo detail pages we move the photo info to the top of page and made sure that the name of the picture is the main heading for the page. The Album description is now below all the information gathered for the photo, and just above the rest of the thumbnail images for the album.

Also now photo detail page URLs include the title of the featured photo and no silly dynamic page question marks and things that search engines don't like. And don't worry about the old page URLs, the system automatically converts them to the new format and informs the search engines of the changes.

On the home page we've made things less biased towards new content and the site now displays a random selection from the database of photos load by our members.

Faster hosting now ensures the site loads quicker and gets those all important photos in front of our growing community of responders rapidly to allow them to add responses.

We've also placed the registration form on the login page so any one clicking "Add a Response" to members photos can join the Free membership easily and get involved without having to find the membership registration form.

So all in all some significant updates to the site that will help the community grow and get more answers for our members photos and questions.

Lost it - Post It - Find It

The diversity of picture content posted on Who are you - Where are you always enthrals us. There are so many different subject matters that the site can be used for. Even some we hadn't thought of.

Lost jewellery has been mentioned before, but it's always interesting to see the items that have "gone missing". Then there are the searches for properties, houses, where people may have visited once upon a time, or they simply have a picture of in their photo albums and would like to know where it's located.

Vehicles are another interesting subject. Ever wondered what happened to a favourite car you once owned. Well confession_maker has posted pictures of two cars they once owned and would just like to know what happened to them? Why not take a look and see if you can help him. Or respond if you owned a similar car. They're obviously interested in this type of car and would like to here from anyone who has a like minded fascination.

The bottom line is you can post pictures and ask questions about virtually anything. The opportunities are endless. Go on, have a go.

It's All Go!

After months of hard work, it's finally here the fantastic new Who are you - Where are you website. The site offers subscribers, or Seekers, the chance to add pictures of anything (within the T&Cs) they want and ask, Who are you? or Where are you? Be it people, possessions, pets, assets etc.

For instance, we just had a posting from jewel1022. They have lost a precious Aquamarine and Diamond cluster ring. They've posted a picture and description of when they last had it. Someone out there will know where it is. So here's wishing jewel1022 a successful search on the site.

Don't forget, it doesn't have to be a diamond ring. If you've lost contact with your long lost relatives. Put a photo of them on site and see what responses it produces.

If you're reading this and thinking to yourself "I know something about one or more of the pictures on the site." Don't just sit there, Register as a Responder for FREE, become part of the community and help someone out.

Keep searching.
