A fine Victorian photographic study of a father and his young teenage son. The young man is very handsome, the father hs the bearing of an official of some kind.
photo was taken at the studio of Stafhell & Kleingrothe of Medan-Deli in Sumatra.
Exact date of the photo is known, written in ink at the top.

Whose families are these?
A series of old photographic studio photos of unknown families.
All of these old photos were bought 15 years ago to use primarily as shop window dressing.
We now would like to re-unite them with their descendents. Absoluteley priceless for any family archive.....check your old folks photo albums ; are these families featured there.
It never ceases to amaze me how irreplaceable old family portraits like these become lost, or sold off because no-one in the family wants them.
Look at the facial features. Are they similar to your own family. Facial features echo down the generations. My features are almost identical to my great great grandma Sarah...my sisters to our great grandma Louisa.
