Granny Gardiner circa mid 1870's Croydon, Surrey.
Granny Gardiner hand written on the back of this cabinet card. The photographer is Proctor & Co of 12 Station Road, West Croydon.
This is one of three photographs of this family by this photographic studio.
Used as window display many years ago and I seem to remember that the the person who donated them was a lady called Pat Bolt.
Is she your great granny, great great granny? Did your ancestors live in Croydon during the 1800's. Check your old folks photo albums, is she there?
These are a valuable archive for the descendents of this lady...and should be returned to the Gardiner/Bolt family.
The image is quite faded.

Whose families are these?
A series of old photographic studio photos of unknown families.
All of these old photos were bought 15 years ago to use primarily as shop window dressing.
We now would like to re-unite them with their descendents. Absoluteley priceless for any family archive.....check your old folks photo albums ; are these families featured there.
It never ceases to amaze me how irreplaceable old family portraits like these become lost, or sold off because no-one in the family wants them.
Look at the facial features. Are they similar to your own family. Facial features echo down the generations. My features are almost identical to my great great grandma Sarah...my sisters to our great grandma Louisa.
