Harvey siblings c1896 and CH Langmead? stepfather
The harvey siblings on holiday circa 1896.
Far left is a young maud aged 15 and next to her is I believe the only photo I've found of a bearded Charles Henry Langmead, their stepfather and uncle.
What a find.
The photo of him is in profile but he looks older than the rest of the group.
Next to CH Langmead is a young Frederick Charles about 14, then Florence about 18. Next to her is I think Stuart Champion-Jones who would much later become her husband. At extreme right is Mable aged 17.
Charles Henry Langmead and Mary Ann Harvey, the Harvey siblings mother married each other when Louisa Langmead, CHLangmead's 1st wife died and Frederic Harvey, mary ann's husband and father to the six Harvey siblings died a few months later.
Louisa Langmead and Charles Harvey were brother and sister and they died within six months of each other and at a young age, Frederic only 38 and Louisa about 42. the rest of the Harveys lived long mostly into their 70's.
I believe something very untoward was done to these two.
At this time the Langmead/Harvey family were living at 68 Hillsborough Road, Sydenham.Kent.
CH Langmead made his will on 5th June 1901 and almost exactly two years later he died 12th June 1903 at Brixton railway station. He let his considerable wealth incuding stocks in mining/goldfields/property to Mary Ann solely for her use.
When he died the family lived at 40 Stradella Road, Herne Hill,Surrey.
Mary Ann lived on for a further 34 years. She died in 1937.

The mystery, history and Archive of the Harveys of Bristol, a wealthy Victorian family 1866 to 1937.
The mystery is how this original personal family archive belonging to Florence Harvey came to be found in my deceased mother's house in Essex ten years ago.
Florence was living in Sri Lanka in the 1930's so how did it arrive in England and why did my mother have it?
My great aunt may have brought it back to England but why was it not returned to the Harvey family?
Does this Victorian family not have descendents to whom it could have been returned?
Why do the documents, archives and photos cease about 1937 when Florence Harvey's mother died?
The Harvey family have no connection to my own family.
It is our intention to return the Harvey family archive to Florence's descendents if they can be found.
Read their story on my eBay blog jeannchris and see their images here through time from 1866 to 1937.
