Stuart Champion Jones. The last photo I have.
Detail of the last photo I have of Stuart Champion-Jones from Florence Champion-Jones (nee Harvey ) photo album.
He looks to be aged about 70, I'm guessing.
All of his photos show him to be a robust manly man, a civil engineer who's engineering factory was in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) in the late 1900's
He was born in 1879 and so this photo is circa 1949.
I have no record of Stuarts death or Florence's either but I feel they may have made it into the 1950's before they passed away. It's not known yet if they remained in Sri Lanka to the end of their lives or returned to England. I don't think they returned to England in their old age.
Florences' brother Frederick Charles Harvey and her three sisters lived into their seventies.
Courtenay Harvey, the youngest of the Harvey siblings died aged only 57.
I hope to find more about the Champion-Jones's in due course.
One reference I found was to a Colonel Douglas Champion-Jones who married a Dorothy Helen Ommanney 1875-1960. Dorothy is descended from William the Conquerer. Colonel Douglas Champion-Jones died in 1963.
Was Douglas brother to Stuart Champion-Jones? They have a most uncommon surname.
If they are related then there are the next generations Champion-Jones's out there somewhere who are descended from Douglas and Dorothy Champion-Jones.
Stuart and Florence did not have children.
Look into your old folks photo albums, is Stuart there?

The mystery, history and Archive of the Harveys of Bristol, a wealthy Victorian family 1866 to 1937.
The mystery is how this original personal family archive belonging to Florence Harvey came to be found in my deceased mother's house in Essex ten years ago.
Florence was living in Sri Lanka in the 1930's so how did it arrive in England and why did my mother have it?
My great aunt may have brought it back to England but why was it not returned to the Harvey family?
Does this Victorian family not have descendents to whom it could have been returned?
Why do the documents, archives and photos cease about 1937 when Florence Harvey's mother died?
The Harvey family have no connection to my own family.
It is our intention to return the Harvey family archive to Florence's descendents if they can be found.
Read their story on my eBay blog jeannchris and see their images here through time from 1866 to 1937.
