Victorian gentleman thought to be Moses Woolland Harvey born 1801 in Moretonhampstead, Devon.
This is thought to be Moses Woolland Harvey, father of Frederic 1848-1886 & his siblings Selena Harvey b.1838-, Willam Phillip Harvey b.1837-and Louisa Harvey b.1843-, husband of Elizabeth Harvey.
Moses Woolland Harvey was an Attorney at Law.
In 1841 the family were living in Crop Street, Moretonhampstead, Devon. In 1834 he had resided at a house at the north end of pound Street, no number, which had been converted to three 'appartments'. Moses Woolland Harvey is described as 'gent, trustee'.
The property was owned by one Thomas Hall who decreed that upon his death the house should be sold within three months.
Between 1851 and 1861 Elizabeth Harvey, Moses's wife, had died and Moses had married Amelia, 10 years his junior.
By 1861 they were still living in Crop Street, Moretonhampstead, house number 53.
In 1871 Moses and Amelia had taken up residence at 81 Cross Street, still in Moretonhampstead, Devon. By now he is aged 71 years old.
I'm telling the story of 'my' Harvey family on my eBay blog. (jeannchris) You can search eBay blog on 'old photos' and my Harvey story blogs will be found on page one.

The mystery, history and Archive of the Harveys of Bristol, a wealthy Victorian family 1866 to 1937.
The mystery is how this original personal family archive belonging to Florence Harvey came to be found in my deceased mother's house in Essex ten years ago.
Florence was living in Sri Lanka in the 1930's so how did it arrive in England and why did my mother have it?
My great aunt may have brought it back to England but why was it not returned to the Harvey family?
Does this Victorian family not have descendents to whom it could have been returned?
Why do the documents, archives and photos cease about 1937 when Florence Harvey's mother died?
The Harvey family have no connection to my own family.
It is our intention to return the Harvey family archive to Florence's descendents if they can be found.
Read their story on my eBay blog jeannchris and see their images here through time from 1866 to 1937.
