Victorian unknown family portrait. Walthamstow.
Victorian photographic studio portrait of an unknown woman and child.
The photo was taken by V.Manders of The Studio, Hoe Street, Walthamstow.
The woman is wearing a full crinoline style dress of brocade and satin very ornate. She wears a long chatelleine chain around her neck and a brooch at the lace collar.
The child wears a lace smock with wide satin sash and pantaloons, dark wool stockings and lace-up boots.
The child ( a litle girl?) wear her hair cut very short. Her eyes appear to be very light in colour possibly blue.
This family look to be quite wealthy. The photo looks as though it was taken at home rather than in a studio.

Whose families are these?
A series of old photographic studio photos of unknown families.
All of these old photos were bought 15 years ago to use primarily as shop window dressing.
We now would like to re-unite them with their descendents. Absoluteley priceless for any family archive.....check your old folks photo albums ; are these families featured there.
It never ceases to amaze me how irreplaceable old family portraits like these become lost, or sold off because no-one in the family wants them.
Look at the facial features. Are they similar to your own family. Facial features echo down the generations. My features are almost identical to my great great grandma Sarah...my sisters to our great grandma Louisa.
